In the valley where I grew up, there was an unspoken tenet that if you were creative you had each other’s back. I’ve felt this same comradery in the city I’ve called home for longer than the town I came from.

Everything I make starts out as a drawing in my head, then takes form according to what feels necessary for the idea I have. I use layered blind contour sketches as a method for meditating on the relationship between my hand, eye, and mind. Everywhere I look I see patterns in the cacophony of color, line, and shape of my surroundings.
